HALFVASTENFOOR
A funfair that makes a yearly travel through Belgium, setting up its popular attractions in all the big cities. In Ghent this fair is known as the Halfvastenfoor.
Interested by the nomadic aspect of this community, I decided to explore their lifestyle with my camera. It was difficult to get close and personal with the people from the fair, but after a couple of months some of them invited me into their caravans allowing me to make some portraits.
The idea was to show their public work environment in contrast to their private, closed and tight-nit living environment.
